Petersburg DSS Recognized During Payment Accuracy Review

The Virginia Division of Child Care and Early Childhood Development conducts a formal Payment Accuracy review process each year to assess the extent to which local departments are accurately interpreting and applying Child Care Subsidy Program guidance. This review is required by the federal government and is one of the requirements associated with state receipt of federal Child Care and Development Block Grant funds. During the last review, which included a random sample of child care subsidy cases active between October 2013 and September 2014, a total of 38 local departments demonstrated error free compliance with program guidance. The City of Petersburg’s Department of Social Services was one of the agencies with error free compliance, and was awarded a Certificate of Recognition from the Virginia Department of Social Services

“This is an outstanding accomplishment for the department, and in particular for our dedicated Child Care and Development Team, as we work hard to deliver quality services to our customers”, stated Kim Willis Miles, Petersburg Director of Social Services.

PACC Animal of the Week
Meet Lucky! What a perfect name for a perfect little dog! Lucky is a mixed bag of tricks! No one breed sticks out to label him. What is for sure however is a loving, sweet, smart and very handsome man! Lucky was our mascot in the parade and dazzled all the kids, big and small. He gets along well with other dogs and pays no attention to cats. He loves kids and walks well on a leash. Lucky was an owner surrender and came to us with half a back left foot missing. He is around 8 months and is up to date on his shots! Come meet and see if he is the right fit for you!

Click here to view all PACC pets. PACC (1600 Johnson Road) hours are Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from noon to 4 p.m., Friday from Noon to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m. Appointments are also available by calling (804) 732-3654. Like us on Facebook also!
