Petersburg DSS Recognized During Payment Accuracy Review
The Virginia Division of Child Care and Early Childhood Development conducts a formal Payment Accuracy review process each year to assess the extent to which local departments are accurately interpreting and applying Child Care Subsidy Program guidance. This review is required by the federal government and is one of the requirements associated with state receipt of federal Child Care and Development Block Grant funds. During the last review, which included a random sample of child care subsidy cases active between October 2013 and September 2014, a total of 38 local departments demonstrated error free compliance with program guidance. The City of Petersburg’s Department of Social Services was one of the agencies with error free compliance, and was awarded a Certificate of Recognition from the Virginia Department of Social Services
“This is an outstanding accomplishment for the department, and in particular for our dedicated Child Care and Development Team, as we work hard to deliver quality services to our customers”, stated Kim Willis Miles, Petersburg Director of Social Services.
