Dear current and future e-residents:

On 1 December 2015, we celebrated the first anniversary of the e-Residency program. Along with a congratulatory message from the Prime Minister of Estonia Taavi Rõivas (watch it here), the milestone was marked with a lot of cake and the announcement of several new third-party partnerships that will change the way you use e-Residency. Watch the entire 1st anniversary event here, or just keep reading to learn about the progress we have made during the first year and the new services that are available and coming soon for e-residents.

The First Year of e-Residency:

More than 7200 people from 121 countries have applied to e-Residency, there are over 530 entrepreneurs using e-Residency to administer their businesses and more than 240 new companies have been established by e-residents. Stay up-to-date with all the latest e-Residency statistics via our dashboard.

Third-Party Partnerships:

In the last week, several new third parties have announced services that build on the e-Residency platform. Also, we are delighted to share with you that NASDAQ recently announced its intent to cooperate with Estonia developing secure e-services. Third parties offering services to e-residents include:

  • Fundwise: Starting from Q1 2016, equity crowdfunding platform Fundwise will, via e-Residency, be the first crowdfunding platform in the world to offer secure digital authentication and digital signing.

  • Funderbeam: the world’s first startup investment marketplace will use Estonian e-Residency for investor authentication.

  • Teleport: Teleport provides information on best places to live and work and will soon offer special badges to users that have authenticated their accounts with e-Residency.

  • eResNetwork: a business networking platform that provides secure and transparent communications for e-residents and organizations.

  • SignWise: a suite of services that makes it easy for e-residents to securely sign and share documents.

As always, thank you so much for all of your feedback and support. We can’t wait to see where we will be in another year and we are grateful to you for being on this journey with us!

Sincerely,
