2) Kids West Christmas Caring Campaign 2015

3) Fast 4 The Food Bank Fundraiser

Fri, December 11, 6pm – 8pm
Charlottetown Rural High School
100 Raiders Road, Charlottetown

Students at Charlottetown Rural High School are helping raise money and donations for the local food bank through a 24 hour fasting fundraiser on Dec.11th-12th. Members of the community are invited to help support this initiative by dropping off monetary pledges or non-perishable food items to the school on Friday, Dec.11th from 6:00-8:00pm.

4) An Island Christmas Concert For All

Saturday, December 12,
7pm – 9pm
Trinity United Church
Charlottetown, PE


Join Island musical talent: Kendall Docherty, Teresa Doyle, Sylvia Mutch, Morgan Saulnier and Sirens for an evening of seasonal favourites. This annual Christmas Concert is in support of the children's programs at Catholic Family Services Bureau. There will also be a table of homemade goodies for sale!

Admission by suggested donation of $10.00 each.

The PEI Coalition for Women in Government will hold its annual New Year’s Levee drop-in on Tuesday January 5th, 2016 from 4–6 pm. (storm date Jan 7). Help us toast a new year of opportunity for advancing women’s leadership opportunities in PEI. Refreshments will be served. 10) Complementary Therapies and Cancer: Confirming Truths and Debunking Myths - Webcast

11) Call for Nominations / Appel de candidatures 

Canada and the world are getting ready for the 60th Session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (UNCSW), which will take place in New York from March 14 to 24, 2016. In 2016, the Commission will consider the priority theme of women’s empowerment and its link to sustainable development.  In addition, the UNCSW will evaluate progress in the implementation of the agreed conclusions from its 57th session on the elimination and prevention of all forms of violence against women and girls.  The session will also address an emerging theme, which is yet to be determined. 

To nominate a candidate from a women’s or other non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to serve as members of the official Canadian delegation to the 60th session of the UNCSW, or should you have any questions regarding the process, please contact Ms. Kyna Boyce at UNCSW-CCFNU@swc-cfc.gc.ca.

More information on the nomination process, as well as the criteria for the selection of NGO representatives, is available from Michelle Harris-Genge, mdharris-genge@gov.pe.ca

Nominations must be received no later than 5:00 p.m. Monday, December 21, 2015.

La 60e session de la Commission de la condition de la femme des Nations Unies aura lieu à New York du 14 au 24 mars 2016. Les préparatifs de cette conférence majeure sont en cours au Canada comme à l’étranger. En 2016, la Commission examinera le thème prioritaire de l'autonomisation des femmes et de son lien avec le développement durable. En outre, le CCF évaluera les progrès accomplis dans la mise en œuvre des conclusions concertées de sa 57ème session sur l'élimination et la prévention de toutes les formes de violence contre les femmes et les filles. La session abordera également un thème émergent (à etre déterminé). 

Pour nommer un candidat ou une candidate à partir d'une organisation de femmes ou d'un autre organisation non-gouvernementale (ONG) pour servir en tant que membre de la délégation canadienne officielle à la 60e session de la CSW. Pour toute question à ce sujet, n’hésitez pas à communiquer avec Kyna Boyce  à l’adresse : UNCSW-CCFNU@swc-cfc.gc.ca
