A weekly update for news and events

Year of Mercy

Starting today, on the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception, an Extraordinary Jubilee Year of Mercy will be observed by the Catholic Church through November 2016. This year of Mercy is an opportunity for us all to experience God's healing mercy. Pope Francis encourages us to forgive, listen, engage in peaceful dialogue and practice the spiritual and corporal works of mercy. Be sure to check out the Year of Mercy section of our website and join our online mercy retreat to receive student reflections and suggestions for how to bring God's mercy to others. Learn more here

Student Blogs

This week Megan and Katie discuss the Year of Mercy and how we are called to both acknowledge God's mercy in our lives and act mercifully and generously to those around us. Specifically, Katie (Go Forth) takes on the concept of Holy Doors and how our every day encounters with entrances can play a role in our orientation toward the world while Megan (Come! Live in the Light!) discusses her recent visit to the South Bend Juvenile Justice System and our call to serve everyone, not just those who are easy to love.
