What a month!
The Million Dollar Job Pledge was an overwhelming success due to the fantastic Central Queensland businesses that have currently pledged to hire around 47 positions. We continue to grow and gather information on how CTC can innovate and remain on the cutting edge with Traineeships and Apprenticeships.
$1,815,000 dollars in job pledges locked in!
With $1,815,000 dollars in job pledges currently locked in, we are working through all the enquiries and expect more to come. Our exciting and new labour hire division is working over time with activity; so much so we have been able to employ a new recruitment officer to help fill the demand, increase our level of service, and ensure we continue to support our customers’ needs quickly and responsively.
CTC has a number of friends to thank including: Livingstone Shire Council Mayor Bill Ludwig for his great support; Cr. Rose Swaddling of the Rockhampton City Council; Mayoral Candidate Michael McMillan and his team; Brendan Bowers and Kim Williams from the Capras; the numerous companies that have pledged jobs; and a big thankyou to the whole Central Queensland community for getting behind this awesome cause.
A big thank you to our sponsors, friends and the CQ community
I would also like to personally thank our wonderful local voices being: Ben and EJ of HOTFM who pulled out all stops; Stuart, Simon, Cath and Suzy from Southern Cross Austereo; Matthew, Michael and Simon from Channel 7; and Jens from The Morning Bulletin. These people and their companies have been there every step of the way and I am truly thankful for their generous support.
Additional thanks to a man we call the ‘puppet master’ – Paul Sweeney from SMR Advertising – who has orchestrated this event without fanfare, ensuring CTC achieved our goal with a message that captured the hearts and minds of the Central Queensland people.
We have also had some outstanding apprentices, trainees and students complete their training and employment with CTC in November, please read their stories, especially the story of our YHARS client in this month’s edition.
One last note for this year is that we have a number of local young mums and families that we are supporting this year through the YHARS program. We would like to make this Christmas very special for them, so we are asking for donations of presents at our office, 38 Armstrong St, North Rockhampton. Your gift could go to a child as young as two months, and it would be out of this world to give these special boys and girls something to smile about this Christmas.
This will be our last newsletter this year so from all the staff at CTC have a safe, happy and enjoyable Christmas and New Year. Please join us next year in what will be an amazing journey with new and exciting times ahead!
Happy festive season
