Washington County 4-H in search of new Meat Goat Superintendent
Washington County 4-H is in need of a volunteer to serve as Meat Goat Superintendent. The ideal candidate for this position would have knowledge of 4-H, Washington County Fair, and best practices for raising meat goats and the time and ability to run the meat goat program during fair. Previous training as a 4-H leader is not required and training will be provided. Time commitments are attendance at Large Animal Leaders meetings approximately 5 times per year, weigh-in in May, and being largely present during Fair in July. Help will be provided with finding a judge, and money is usually available for the purchase of awards, but the selection is the responsibility of the superintendent. The large animal leaders are a fun, easy-going group of leaders with a lot of knowledge to share, so if you think you are interested but are unsure of your knowledge, give us a call!
