What We Do

Well-trained farmers are key to building sustainable local food systems, and New Entry prepares new and beginning farmers for success through comprehensive training and technical assistance in all aspects of farm production and management.

Our mission is to assist multi-cultural individuals with agricultural backgrounds to successfully enter farming in Massachusetts. The broader goals of New Entry are to support the vitality and sustainability of the region's agriculture, to build long term economic self-reliance and food security among participants and their communities, and to expand access to high-quality, culturally appropriate and  locally-grown foods.

Dear 2015 World PEAS Shareholders,

Though it feels as if the CSA season has just ended, the World PEAS Team is missing our farm-fresh fruits and vegetables already. These frosty December mornings have us longing for the sweet, warm days of ripe strawberries and bountiful summer squash.

As a special offer to our loyal sharehold
ers, we are now offering early CSA registration for the 2016 season at the same price as 2015 shares! This limited offer will end on December 29th, so be sure to register HERE to reserve your 2016 share at a discounted price. Plus, our Fresh Gift Share makes a great holiday present for any friend or family member who enjoys eating fresh, healthy, and local.

When you register early for your CSA share, you provide critical, guaranteed income to our beginning, immigrant, and refugee farmers. For every dollar of produce sold by World PEAS, our farmers receive 79%. That is a huge margin compared to larger retailers who supply their farmers with only 60% or less of every dollar.

If you would like to help provide a low-income family with a World PEAS CSA share, please click here. These "Share-a-Share" donations are just one aspect of our low-income food access work. In 2015, World PEAS served approximately 1,800 low-income individuals via partnerships with senior centers, community centers, and homeless shelters. And what better day to give back to your local communities of farmers and eaters than Giving Tuesday
