ATTORNEY ADVERTISING - PRIOR RESULTS DO NOT GUARANTEE FUTURE PERFORMANCE

F&W 2015 Year End Newsletter

Happy Holidays

As 2015 draws to a close, we write to wish our friends and family happy holidays and a happy New Year.  We would also like to take this time to provide an update on the spectacular year we had at F&W.

Results.

2015 was the year of results for F&W and its clients.  From resolution of a major employee misconduct issue for a corporate client, including restitution, to settlements of wage and hour violations for improperly paid employees, F&W achieved results which met or exceeded clients' expectations. The New York Daily News recently reported about just one of the settlements the Firm achieved this year for a New York City police officer's First Amendment lawsuit.

The Firm's success was once again recognized by Super Lawyers magazine.  The magazine listed Matt Weinick as a rising star for the fourth year in a row and Peter Famighetti as a Super Lawyer for the second consecutive year.

Promoting the Profession

At F&W, service to our clients is first and foremost. However, we are also dedicated to our profession and are always looking for ways to contribute to the practice of law.  In 2015, the Nassau County Bar Association published Matt Weinick's article about recent amendments to the State and City Human Rights Laws.  Additionally, Matt was honored to have been selected as an instructor at Hofstra Law School where he instructed second year law students on trial advocacy skills. Matt also taught a continuing legal education class about employment law at the Bar Association's bridge-the-gap weekend.

Reminder to Federal practitioners: The amendments to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure took effect in December. A summary of the most important changes is available on our blog.

New Website Launched

In 2015 we worked hard to launch an overhauled website to improve our users' experience and enhance our internet presence.  The new website prominently features the F&W video on the first page.

One key new functionality we're most proud of is our blog.  With seamless integration into the website, we regularly bring fresh employment law content to the internet.  Topics we covered this year include a Federal appellate court's questioning of a long established employment law test, reasonable accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act, and clarifications made by New York's highest Federal Court about rules relating to employment law.  Our blogs are also published on Facebook and Google+ so be sure to like and follow our pages to receive the latest news.

Looking Ahead

We're proud of all our accomplishments this year, but we're not content to rest on them.  F&W has big plans for 2016 and we look forward to sharing them with you throughout the year.  Until then, we once again wish you a wonderful holiday season and a happy and healthy New Year.
