Making a Difference
Capital Area CASA continues to provide an advocate for every child who needs a voice as he or she navigates the foster care and juvenile justice systems in East Baton Rouge Parish. During the third quarter of 2015, 105 advocates provided a voice in court for 194 abused and neglected children. Thirty-six new cases were appointed an advocate. Thirty-four CASA cases involving 50 children closed. Staff and volunteers attended 204 court hearings, 46 child protection agency and other case staffings and submitted 50 court reports to provide juvenile court judges with information about these children.
Holiday Open House
Capital Area CASA honored its volunteers for their advocacy work on behalf of abused and neglected children at the 2015 CASA Holiday Open House held Dec. 8 at the CASA office. The event was hosted by CASA’s board and staff. CASA volunteers, board members, attorneys, East Baton Rouge Parish Juvenile Court personnel and CASA staff attended. Read more >>
CASA Kids Enjoy Holiday Party
The River Road Chapter of National Charity League hosted the annual CASA Kids’ Holiday Party Nov. 22. Children enjoyed inflatable play areas and photos with Santa. NCL is a group of mothers and daughters who volunteer together. Special thanks to NCL for hosting a fun event for our CASA kids and for supporting CASA throughout the year.
