 WFEO to get a second female President 
Eng. Marlene Kanga of Australia was elected President-Elect of the WFEO at the Federation's General Assembly in Kyoto last December. With this, she becomes the 2nd Female President of the organization after Maria Prieto Laffargue, 2009-2011.
WIE wishes Marlene all the best as she works with our amiable President, Eng. Jorge Spitalnik.
 Valerie takes over as new chair of WIE STC
Also at the General Assembly, the nomination of Eng. Valerie Agberagba, Nigeria as the Chair of WIE was approved. With this, she takes over from Bashayer Al Awwad of Kuwait who chaired the committee from 2011-2015 and got a WFEO recognition for her contribution
 WFEO-WIE STC stands for more inclusive approach
At the World Engineers Convention WECC2015 organized in Japan, Kyoto, conclusions and recommendations highlighted actions to be taken further in the gender approach of Engineering. A workshop followed by a discussion panel on “Promoting female leaders in engineering” took place on the 1st December 2015 and was attended by more than a hundred participants, including men and women from the international Engineering & Technology sectors. 
 
 WFEO-WIE members at COP 21 in France
During the 2015 United Nations Climate Change Conference Conference Of Parties - COP 21 - held in Paris, France, from 30 November to 12 December 2015, Women Engineers of the world had the opportunity to raise their voice and discuss global challenges at the UNESCO-WFEO, parallel event organized by WFEO Committee on Engineering and the Environment on the 8th of December in Paris.
 
  • Eng. Bashayer Alwaad, past-Chair of WFEO-WIE, was present at the parralel-event organized at the Engineering Faculty Ecole des Mines of Paris, on the 8th dec. : “COP-21 Engineers Climate Change Summit Turning Words into Action – A Sectoral Approach».
  • Eng. Yvette Ramos, representing the WFEO, Women in Engineering Committee took the floor to put the emphasis on sustainability, environmental integrity, social equality, and economic prosperity as a unique opportunity today for human progress, capitalizing on borderless and multidimensional Women Engineers and Scientists experiences.
