Fire Tax Hearing - Jan. 22

There will be a court hearing next month about the Fire Tax. We are asking for the Judge’s approval of our class notice. This “class notice” is how we plan to notify people that we will be legally representing them in court.

This is an important step in our class action lawsuit. In a class action, the court authorizes a small group to represent the interests of a larger group. In our case, HJTA is representing the interests of all of you who have paid and protested the Fire Tax.

Our next steps after giving notice to the class will be gathering the remaining information we need to go to trial.
