December Newsletter!

Hello Games Slovenia subscriber!

This time we have a lot of news:

SGC 2015 Update

The presentation videos from our conference are finally uploaded and ready to be watched! With a little delay we were able to get them up and running on our Youtube channel and we have also prepared a short survey for the attendees. Please fill it out as it gives us great feedback on what was done right and what wrong and where we can improve. We would like to once again extend our gratitude to our sponsors and partners which made the whole event possible.

Membership @Games Slovenia

At the December SloGameDev meetup we unveiled our new membership plan. We think the this one is well balanced and fair to freelancers, hobby developers, indies and bigger studios.

Maribor Game Jam 2016 (Global Game Jam)

We are opening registrations for the Maribor Game Jam 2016, which will be held on the last weekend of January (Friday, 17:00 - Sunday, 17:00). The event is a 48 hour Jam, where developers, artists, engineers and designers meet and create games based on a given theme (tabletop also count!).We have a limited amount of seats so we have created an application where you can apply! Registration is open until 04.01.2015. You can read more about the event on the official Global Game Jam 2016.

Funding Workshop

Games Slovenia is organizing a workshop together with CED Slovenia on how to apply for the EU funding program as a game developer / studio. We have a studio that successfully applied for it last year and got almost 50% funded through this program. We also plan on having PITCH lessons and a panel with some individuals who have gathered exceptional experience in pitching to publishers, be it tech, mobile or console. We are also planning to invite publishers to present themselves to us and what they are looking for in studios. More in the next newsletter!

Central European Games Conference

The Central European Games Conference is a developers conference and thus a great opportunity to listen to a variety of inspiring talks, meet future project partners and investors, or network and get to know other people working the games industry. It is also the perfect place to showcase your own projects. Sign up as Exhibitor, show off your work at the CEGC Indie Expo and form valuable connections.

Games Austria the organizers of the conference have given us 8 scholarships of which 6 still remain, register here! They are also looking for volunteers to help out at the conference for which you can also apply!

The tickets can be bought on their website and Games Austria is giving special discounts for members of game developers association in the region!

Reboot Develop

Reboot Develop is happening next year in Split with even more speakers, an indie expo and a B2B area! Kate Edwards (IGDA), Brenda and John Romero, Tim Shaffer and Mike Bithell are just some of the amazing ones you will be able to listen to. Speakers are being announced each week so follow the event on Facebook to be up to date. They are selling Early Bird Tickets right now for a discount of 15%, but wait! The organizers are offering Games Slovenia members a 20% discount which is pretty sweet!
