Social calendar - upcoming events
Xmas party - booked out!! So great to see we will have 100 people at the club this Saturday(19 Dec) for the Xmas party. Helpers are needed Friday night from 6pm to set up and decorate the hall.
New Year’s Eve at the club: The club will be open on New Year’s Eve with the bar operating from 6pm for club members, family and friends to enjoy the great view of the fireworks from the upper deck. No alcohol can be brought onto the premises as the bar will be operating. The kitchen and BBQ are available for members to prepare meals etc. - just make sure you clean up. There will be no organised catering or live music on the night. Please be aware that car parking will be at a premium, so you're advised to get in early, walk or even come by pushbike. We aren't sure if the council are closing road again this year, like they did last year.
Friday nights at the club: On Friday 4 December we had about 70 people at the club, enjoying the lovely sounds of The Angelicats, the beautiful weather and the yummy Mexican food. Thanks to all those who help at these events. Such events provide another way for people to enjoy the club, and spend time with family and friends. The growing success of the Friday night events is a great reflection of our positive community spirit that is evident around the club. The next Friday night session will be on Friday 5 February. The music will be jazz/blues from two locals Melissa and Maurice - so put the date in your diary.
Family fun day: On Sunday 14 Feb we'll be having a family fun day at the club from 10am to 2pm. There will be some organised activities including a bush band and some bush dancing, maybe even a paddle in some of the canoes, the Optis will be in the water, maybe fishing and swimming off the pier and use of table tennis, fooz ball etc. We will have a BBQ running where you can buy lunch. The idea is to encourage any members to bring their kids or grand-kids down to make use of the club and our facilities. We are conscious that most of our social activities are generally not child friendly, so hopeful this day will provide a more family focus for some social interaction. We are certainly not limiting activities to just families, so you do not need to have kids to come along and join in, so don’t be shy!
