Welcome!
Greetings and welcome to the first issue of
Your Community, Your Planet in 2016! It's a wee bit late - we seem to have been blown through January and into February! Also apologies that there was no December issue - this was due to some IT issues which are now resolved! Anyway please read on to find out what's happening across the area and beyond!
Our projects and services...
WH Malcolm planning application update: the planning application went to the
Planning Committee on Tuesday 12 January (despite being informed otherwise). Given the level of public interest and concern with the proposed application
the Planning Committee agreed to defer the decision to a public hearing. We are waiting to hear when and where this will take place. We have
posted an update on our blog including the link to the planning report and a timeline of the campaign to date.
Give Us A Hand calendar: as part of the
Glasgow WAVE project we have produced a
great, handy-sized wall calendar featuring lots of local organisations that offer volunteering opportunities -
get your copy quick as they are going fast!
Air quality petition update: as part of the campaign against WH Malcolm a petition was submitted to the Council by Scotstoun Community Council calling for improvements to
Air Quality Management on South Street and surrounds - this will be heard by the
Petitions Committee on Tuesday 9 February.
De'ils On Wheels: the
De'ils On Wheels bike workshop is
open Wednesday 11am to 3pm and Thursday 1-5pm and offers
quality reused bikes for sale and affordable bike servicing and repairs. And we also
accept donations of unwanted bikes!

FREE screening of The Flying Scotsman on Tue 9 Feb at The Whiteinch Centre. This is part of the
We Go Pedal project.
