Top 5 Reasons to Work with GaMEP at Georgia Tech in 2016

GaMEP is a state and federally funded program out of NIST. We are one of 63 centers across the country and the only center in Georgia. Our mission is to help manufacturers in Georgia grow competitively. Here are 5 of the many reasons you should work with us in 2016:

1. We care about you and your team - our goal is to teach you the tools to be successful and continue to grow.

2. We have a breadth of expertise to help you grow competitively - we have experience in process improvement, quality, energy, sustainability, leadership development, and business growth.

3. We spend a lot of time in plants helping manufacturers just like you - last year we helped more than 1,000 manufacturers reduce operating costs by $128 million, increase sales by $286 million, and create or save more than 2,300 jobs.

4. We have the connections to Georgia Tech - as part of Georgia Tech we can connect you to the many resources on campus, including access to students for co-op and internship positions, research for new product development, and much more.

5. We have resources throughout the state to support you - we have more than 40 project managers and region managers living and working across the state of Georgia and can easily get to any manufacturer anywhere in the state.

3 Childhood Friends Started their Own Manufacturing Company

Jackson Smith, Khatera Ballard, and Wes Jones have been friends for years and were just named the December Faces of Manufacturing.

What started as a conversation has turned into an 18 person craft gelato manufacturing company that is growing rapidly. In the past four years, they have grown to manufacture and distribute to more than 100 restaurants and 85 retail locations across the Southeast.

Read their story and watch their video as they talk about their vested interest in giving back to their community, including hiring staff from the City of Refuge and donating more than 13,500 meals to the Atlanta Community Food Bank in the past six weeks.
