Resolutions and New Beginnings
Let’s learn something new in 2016! We have a variety of workshops schedule from January - March and we’re so excited about them! First we’ll start with the basics of Mac computers before moving on to Fundamentals of Video, Basic Camera, and Basic Editing including iMovie, Final Cut Pro X and Adobe Premiere Pro. Video wizard and NCTV board member, Jordan Tynes, will also take on a couple of sessions and will teach Advanced Editing workshops with both Final Cut Pro X and Adobe Premiere. Don’t worry, we’ll have the basic version of each class the week before so you can get caught up. Don’t forget about our Studio Production, File Management, and a brand new DSLR Basics session! Check out the sidebar to the right for dates and times or head on over to our website for full descriptions and to sign up! We require members to sign up for workshops so our staff and volunteer teachers can prepare accordingly.

New Shows
With December in full swing, NCTV is preparing for the last of the 2015 holidays in full production style!
While you’re buying presents for loved ones and finalizing all of the necessary travel arrangements to visit family and friends, get serenaded by the soundtrack of film and theater as
Chris Labonte Sings: Songs From “Annie” & “Free Willy”. Educate yourself about the dangers of the current drug problem and what you can do about it at the Norfolk Police Department Community Meeting on The Heroin Epidemic. Basque in the glow of youthful talent at the 2015 Norfolk Lions Club Young Performers Variety Show. Join Bill Crane and Duane Weiss on a new Bill Crane Report if you’re in serious need of “flushing out the dry rot in your brain.” Slap on a helmet and protective pads as Paul Altmeyer and Horace Greeley interview Brianna Decker, lead scorer for the National Women’s Hockey League team Boston Pride, on the November 2015 edition of The Hockey Show. Relish in holiday songs and poetry and express your general gratitude alongside the students at The H. Olive Day 2015 Thanksgiving Parade. Celebrate the Norfolk Cribbage Players’ victory at the Franklin Cribbage Tournament as they get ready to host their own event in the Norfolk Cribbage Tournament 2016 PSA. Stay up on the latest news and activities happening at the Norfolk Senior Center as you sit next to Norma Shruhan and Richard Connors on the December 2015 edition of Silver Set Gazette. Remain engaged and involved in your local town politics at the 2015 Norfolk Special Fall Town Meeting. Close your eyes and become immersed in the elegant sounds of the 2015 King Philip Winter Pops Concert. Get in the Christmas spirit as you march in the 2015 Norfolk Santa Parade. Take A Walk in the Garden with Liz Davey as she does her final show of 2015 and showcases her holiday-decorated window boxes, handmade Christmas wreaths, and a scrumptious cream of chicken soup accompanied by a dressed spinach salad and a warm cream-filled holiday dessert roll. Lastly, run for your life as a crazed killer is on the loose when Jason Comes Back… In Norfolk!

Programming Shenanigans
with Andrew Barker
I can’t believe it, but Hanukkah has already come and gone and Christmas is just over a week away! I hope everybody out there is enjoying the holiday season thus far.
Well, this is the Programming Shenanigans portion of the newsletter so that means I must tell you about the special programs that will be making their way onto the public channel. We have plenty of holiday themed programs that will be seen in the near future. Keep in mind that we are your local community access station so we won’t have the huge Christmas movies like “Elf” or “A Christmas Story,” but we can provide you with some older classics, such as “The Monkees’ Christmas Show.” Yes, that’s right, an old Christmas episode of the legendary “The Monkees” television series. In addition to public domain programs, we also have some great
Christmas programs from us here at NCTV. Alan Glasser’s “A Classical Moment: Holiday Edition” will return as well as the Christmas Cathedral Bells at the Federated Church.
In conclusion, I must mention our special movie showings on the public channel.
Starting December 20 and through Christmas Day we will be airing some great classic movies at 9:00pm. It should be a good time and because it’s on NCTV, that means no commercials! I will go into greater detail on this in this week’s NCTV Inside blog!
Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
