A message from your new 2016 Officers Board
Our club's in coming cfhb board would like to send out a big thank you for the gang of five, Kathleen Plyer, Dave Smith, Steve (our outstanding webmaster) Lembrée and mid term fill in V.P. of Lagers, Jason Holic, and Susan Urban for their dedication to our club. We appreciate their continued support and guidance during this transition, and hope they enjoy all the aspects of our club without the responsibility involved with bank accounts, storage shed shed keys, ordering many different supplies, setting up the amp and speakers before our meetings and such! Please attend our president's party and thank them in person this year. Incoming board members (god help us).
Moving Forward
We have created a brief survey that we ask everyone to please take 5 minutes and fill out. The survey results will be used to help guide us and direct the club in the coming year. Your participation is greatly needed.

Competition entry window opens December 27th, and closes January 24th, 2016.
The purpose of Best Florida Beer is to aid in the development and promotion of both home and commercial Florida brewers, their craft beers and the community of brewing enthusiasts. BFB accomplishes this by organizing fair and credible competitions that distinguish excellence in beer with qualified judges. In addition we increase awareness of commercial breweries through consumer education, marketing, events and competitions.
BFB strives to serve as a model of cooperation in its effort to unify the Florida brewing community by establishing partnerships and cultivating resources with like organizations statewide.

Coconut Cup 2016
Entries open Jan 15th and close Feb 14th
The Coconut Cup homebrew competition began 18 years ago as a challenge between the Miami Area Society of Homebrewers (MASH) and the Ft. Lauderdale Area Brewers (FLAB) homebrewing clubs. Participation has grown to include other Florida homebrewing clubs and we have invited homebrewers from across the Southeast to participate in our competition. The 2016 Coconut Cup will be the 17th Coconut Cup sanctioned by the Beer Judge Competition Program / American Homebrewers Association.
In 2014, MASH added the first Coconut Cup Keg Competition to the mix. We will be continuing that tradition this year.

Want to talk on the radio about home brewing??
Greetings,
My name is Mike Kara and I serve as host and executive producer for the internet radio show - Mike Kara Radio Show - Central Florida Buzz.
I am a fellow member of the Central Florida Home Brewers, and I'm looking to interview fellow members about their home brew. To discuss what they're brewing, and a little bit about their background in homebrewing. This is a chance for you to share with the world, literally, what you're brewing. This is a chance to explain how you do it, and a little bit about what inspires you to create better beer.
I conduct 30 minute in person recorded interview.
I record these shows at
Frank's Restaurant and Sports Bar
146 North Clarke Road
Ocoee, Florida 34761
I record the show at 3pm.
Check out my website at http://mikekara.com
If you're interested you can PM me, email me at mikekara@gmx.com or call me at (407) 450-8946

Want to help the club??
We are seeking people to head up various teams here at CFHB.
Sunshine Challenge: As the Sunshine Challenge team leader you will be in charge of helping to coordinate our largest event of the year. This is a big responsibility and probably one of the most important. Dedication is a must and prior event planning is desirable.
Events Team: Your duties as Events team leader would be to help plan and coordinate our various parties that we have each year.
Competitions: Competitions team leaders would be in charge of seeking out local competitions and assisting in planning of our competitions.
Librarian: You will be in charge of bringing the club library items to the meetings and keeping track of who has what book.
Hospitality: Hospitality team leaders are in charge of welcoming new members! This is probably one of the best jobs to choose!
If interested please seek out our officers or email officers@cfhb.org.
