BSU signs biology partnership with North Hennepin Community College
On Dec. 8, President Hanson signed an agreement to deliver a BSU baccalaureate degree program in biology on the campus of North Hennepin Community College in Brooklyn Park, Minn. Hanson was joined at the ceremony by Dr. Barbara McDonald, NHCC president, and a host of faculty and administrators from both schools.

Girls Who Code meet Chelsea Clinton
It’s not every day that you get a chance to meet the daughter of the President of the United States. Jennifer Thiesen, a programmer in the programming, networking and servers office, had that opportunity on Nov. 20, along with two members of the Girls Who Code club she founded at Bemidji State in the fall of 2014. Theisen, along with 16-year-old Alise May and 14-year-old Diamond Cloud-Sayers, both from Red Lake, Minn., traveled to St. Paul, Minn. to meet Chelsea Clinton – daughter of former President Bill Clinton – at a signing of Clinton’s new book, “It’s Your World.â€

Madrigal Dinners wraps 47th successful season
More than 1,000 people attended this year's Madrigal Dinners, a holiday tradition presented by the Department of Music for the past 47 years. This year's final two performances on Dec. 11-12 were both sellouts. The Madrigals are directed by Dr. P. Bradley Logan and featured nearly 50 students on the cast and crew.

Kiecker wins EXHIBITOR student award
Ashley Kiecker, a senior in the art and design program, has won the 2016 EXHIBITOR Media Group Student Achievement Award. Kiecker was selected by art and design faculty for her academic performance and classroom leadership.

Anderson invited to 2015 USA Hockey Women's Winter Camp
Stephanie Anderson, a junior forward on the Bemidji State women's hockey team from North St. Paul, has been invited to the 2015 USA Hockey Women’s Winter Camp. Anderson is one of 37 players invited to the camp, which will take place from Dec. 27-Jan. 1 in Blaine, Minn.

Beavers begin North Star College Cup defense on Jan. 30
Bemidji State men's hockey begins its defense of the North Star College Cup championship Jan. 30, against the Minnesota Golden Gophers at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul. The winner will face off against the winner of the day's first game between St. Cloud State and Minnesota State for the cup on Jan. 31 at 4 p.m.
Ticket packages are $80 or $54 and include two tickets - one for each day of the tournament. Each day's ticket will provide access to both games on that day. All four games of the North Star College Cup will be broadcast on FOX Sports North.
