Reader Application Winter 2016


The Department of Statistics is currently hiring Readers for Winter 2016. Readers provide diverse services as a “course assistant”, which will normally include the grading of student homework, quizzes, and exams for undergraduate statistics courses. A reader will NOT be teaching or holding office hours. The current pay rate for undergraduate readers is $14 per hour and $14.73 for graduate readers. The reader appointment can be renewed based on performance evaluation from the instructor and the availability of reader hours.

Qualifications:
  • Full-time UC Davis registered student (declared statistics majors preferred)
  • Student must be in good academic standing
  • 3.0 or higher overall and major GPAs (on a 4.00 point scale)
  • Must have taken the course or a closely related course and received a “B” or better grade
  • Must have excellent time management skills and good attention to details
  • Must be able to communicate effectively
  • A student may not serve as a reader in a course in which he or she is enrolled.

Middle Eastern & South Asian Student Community Retreat Application

The UC Davis Cross Cultural Center and the UC Davis Middle Eastern and South Asian Studies Department presents the Middle Eastern and South Asian Student Community Retreat which will be held February 5-7, 2016. 
 
What is the ME/SA Student Community Retreat?
We aim to empower students within the UC Davis community through a weekend retreat focused on exploring identity, reflecting on campus climate, discussing shared vision and developing student leaders.

This year our theme is: "Connecting with Our Past. Contextualizing Our Present. Creating Our Future"
 
This retreat is open to all students, first years, transfers, current students, and student leaders. Students of all identities and intersections, including undocumented, LGBTQIA, and differently-abled, are encouraged to apply.
