Welcome to the ESAI Newsletter - December 2015
Welcome to the latest edition of the ESAI newsletter. We hope you are finding the new ezine format more user-friendly for navigating and reading. Please forward to other colleagues who may be interested in receiving this quarterly newsletter by subscribing using the instructions below or on our web site www.esaiweb.org.
In this edition of the newsletter, we report on a number of ESAI activities. We were pleased to receive a good number of high quality applications for the 2015 ESAI Postgraduate Researcher of the Year award, now in its second year and congratulate the winner Luke Prendergast of UCD. Well done also to the first awardees in our new initiative, the ESAI Grassroots Workshop Support Scheme kindly funded by the EPA (more below), and thanks to ESAI Council members for assessing the applications for the awards above.
Our offer of free membership of ESAI is now open to undergraduates on courses listed on our ESAI courses page. See below for information on how to avail of this offer. We are grateful to our ESAI Liaisons for promoting this message in each college.
ESAI partnered with CIWEM on a half-day conference “Innovation in Water & Wastewater Technology” in Cork on November 27 and we always welcome opportunities to co-host relevant events with other organisations.
Preparations are well underway for Environ 2016 (March 22-24) at University of Limerick. The event is being co-ordinated by Dr Ronan Courtney and Dr Ken Byrne with their local committee along with the support of ESAI Council. Further details can be found in this newsletter. We look forward to seeing you there next March.
