Dear Girls Action family,

As 2015 comes to a close, we’ve been reflecting on the highlights from our last 20 years, and the many milestones that lie ahead.

One of our flagship programs, Amplify - a yearly national bilingual training for girls’ programmers - will celebrate its 10th year in 2016! In anticipation of this anniversary, Girls Action Foundation, in partnership with Amplify facilitators and alumnae, will be carrying out an evaluation of the program. This participatory research project is sure to shed light on how we can adapt and grow to meet the new and changing needs of girls’ programmers in Canada.

Feminism is always evolving and so are we! We want to stay responsive to emerging issues and continue to support girls’ programmers through programs like Amplify and our new evaluation platform Data Spark, designed to help our network capture the change in girls experiences through participating in their programs.

I hope that you’ll join us in supporting the next generation of young women leaders with a gift this season. Thank you for your support throughout the years - we couldn’t have made it without you!

Sincerely,

- Saman Ahsan, Executive Director
Amplify Training
This past October, facilitators from across Canada gathered in the Eastern Townships of Quebec to share, learn and collaborate during our five-day Amplify Training! During this time,  participants discussed issues important to their communities and the future of girls’ programming. Learning to Measure Change
Our innovative online evaluation tool, Data Spark, has been making waves since we launched its beta version in Toronto! Today, we share with you the first report on the development of the tool: Learning to Measure Change: A Summary Report of a Girl-Centered Collaborative Evaluation Project. Stay tuned for the public launch in the new year!
20th Anniversary Celebration
On September 25th  we hosted a day-long networking gathering in Montreal, for youth serving organizations based in Quebec to identify key issues facing girls and young women and share solutions. Following the event, Girls Action Foundation celebrated our 20th anniversary! Thanks to all those who came! To see messages and photos of this unforgettable day, click here.
From Valentine’s Day to International Women’s Day in 2016, young feminists will share their stories and opinions by blogging on Kickaction.ca for the 2016 Blogging Carnival! Click here to register under one of this year's weekly themes, ranging from self-care to reclaiming our bodies.
Did you consult our new online toolkit with 21 web-based tools for young women to prevent and better respond to violence in intimate relationships? Click here to have a look and share the toolkit among your network.
Find out more about how we are marking our 20th anniversary in an interview our Executive Director Saman Ahsan had on the show Montreal Billboard (7:55). You can also hear our Programs Coordinator, Diahara Traoré, discuss our national girls’ wellness project on the radio channel Canal M.
