Notes from the Podium
by Debbie Walden and Robin Rice

Great job on the new music!
When you're practicing at home this week, be sure to check the key signature before you begin. It would be a good idea to practice the scale of the same key also. Much of the new music is at a quick tempo. Remember though, if you can't play it well slowly, you will not be able to play it up to tempo. Begin slowly and gradually pick up the speed.  We only have 5 more rehearsals before our next performance! You're going to have to really dedicate yourself to learning the music at home.

Be sure to listen this recording of the Brahms before Tuesday.

Bring a pencil. See you on Tuesday!

'Live Lessons', BBC Ten Pieces
Ten Pieces is an exciting initiative for schools, led byBBC Learning and the BBC Performing Groups, focusing on classical music and creativity.
It started in the autumn term of 2014 with a week of free screenings of a cinematic film featuring ten pieces of music introduced by celebrities and performed by the National Orchestra and Chorus of Wales. The finale of the first year of the project was two Ten Pieces Proms at the Royal Albert Hall, UK on July 2015.
