TedX

In October, MindMeeting’s Eric de Groot had the honour of speaking at the first-ever Tedx Conference in his home province of Friesland (the Netherlands). No room for Meeting Design because Tedx talks follow an almost maniacally strict format? Forget it! Eric proved the MindMeeting slogan that there is always room for doing things differently.
Watch here how he turns the fixed-seating room with 250+ participants into a class of energetic and harmlessly bad 10-year olds.
Behaviour change thanks to proper session design. Exactly what our Meeting Design work is all about!

MindMeeting 2.0

Growth. Almost all companies desire growth. So do we at MindMeeting. But the most important underlying values of our agency are Friendship and Sharing Fun. And so, we can only grow by joining forces with people who will share these values with us in practice.
In the course of the past couple of years, Sara has organically joined our ranks. And now in January 2016, our friends Natalia and Chema will officially nestle in. Of course they are already working with us in their home country, Spain. We expect them to soon spread their wings and fly over to Latin America.

Meeting Cure

Anybody out there who passionately loves the meetings in their organization? You know, the ordinary, day-to-day close encounters with your colleagues to discuss coordination, new initiatives, progress in projects, etc? Go on, be honest: who thinks that these meetings are effective and that they light the fire of positive energy in the organization?
Well, we guess some people will answer this question with a resounding “Yes!”, but we are pretty sure they are exceptions. Most people will passionately say that their every-day, hum-drum meetings SUCK. And that they suck heavily. And that they inflict misery upon the lives of working people.
MindMeeting is now applying our Meeting Design methodology and experience to the improvement of these daily meetings. We do it with our new service Meeting Cure.
Meeting Cure is a unique blend of two ingredients: one is a shift in the meeting culture in organizations. We will start a Meeting Cure intervention whenever organization leaders are convinced that they no longer want to put up with boring, exhausting meetings. That they want to bring about a drastic improvement in how they and their people deal with meetings.
The second ingredient is the application of MindMeeting’s design methods to these meetings. In a practical and straightforward series of formats, which all members of the organization can use.

Meeting Design Practicum

Thirty curious minds; three empty meeting rooms in an 18th century fortress; healthy catering and a set of initial queries; and none of the hospitality-related amenities associated with the ordinary meetings industry. These are the raw materials for the first-ever Meeting Design Practicum.
Every respectful profession needs a space for innovation – a mental laboratory. The young profession of Meeting Designer didn’t have such a space. But it will soon! In February, MindMeeting offers colleague designers the opportunity to carry out practical research in such fascinating questions as:
  • How does tribalism affect meeting participants?
  • Will military exercising increase feelings of group cohesion?
  • What can objects say about a meeting?
  • And many others.
The Meeting Design Practicum is co-hosted with our colleagues Victor Neyndorff, Juup de Kanter, Ritzo ten Cate and Maureen Kamphuis. We will exchange a lot of know-how between fellow professionals. But most of all, we conduct experiments and break new ground. Obviously, we have no idea what the outcomes of the experiments will be. What we do know is that all of the international designers we have approached are responding with great enthusiasm.
Stay tuned!

Year End

Each year is a mixed bag of sweet and sour, of peaks and troughs, of love and animosity. Overall, world of the human race moves along with hiccups - three steps ahead and two-and-a-half back.
Meetings have the potential to change things in people’s lives. With MindMeeting, we wish to make meetings ever more meaningful and ever more human. That may sound pretentious. Yet, we all know things will improve only if you put your mind to it. And we mean that quite literally.
With our increased strength, in 2016 we wish to achieve a positive impact on people’s lives, together with all those who we have the privilege to work with: clients, partners, suppliers – friends.
We wish all of you a Merry Christmas and a Peaceful 2016.
