Follow these five steps to take control of your health and achieve wellness:
1. Believe. Believe you can control your health. Believe you can fix your symptoms and recover from your health problems. We have met many people who were diagnosed with "incurable" chronic and even "terminal" illnesses who recovered completely. Even if complete recovery is impossible due to a mechanical issue, significant improvement is almost always achievable.
2. Make Your Health a Priority. Humans are naturally healthy when their nutritional needs are met and those things that negatively impact health are avoided. When health is a priority, you will choose the healthier option. Before eating your next meal, smoking that next cigarette or drinking that next alcoholic drink, ask yourself how it will affect your health. Before long, you will choose the healthier option out of habit.
3. Suspect the Media and Medical Industry. The media is interested in advertising dollars. Producers who do not have medical degrees are the people who write the stories, not the grave looking medical correspondents who read the teleprompters. These are the people who told you eggs were unhealthy, all fats should be avoided and gluten is good for you. They don't read the medical studies, don't know which studies are flawed, and will not be there to hold your hand when you are sick. The medical industry is excellent at identifying and treating acute crises: gunshots, poisoning, injuries, bacterial infections and wounds. Chronic diseases are misunderstood and nutrition is basically ignored. Neither doctors, nor nurses, are taught to recognize the subtle signs of malabsorption or how to identify and treat nutritional deficiencies. This means you will almost NEVER receive the right treatment if the cause of your illness is nutritionally based, unless your doctor or nurse has a specific interest in nutrition. Instead, you will receive drugs and surgeries. Definitely utilize medical professionals when necessary, but ask questions.
4. Identify and Correct Health Problems. Most people have no idea that things like thin hair, acne, fatigue or ripples in their fingernails are signs of poor health. They don't understand their bodies work and how malabsorption, food sensitivities and nutritional deficiencies affect them. For that matter, neither do most doctors. You CAN identify and correct your health problems. First, review the
