CELEBRATE AND WORSHIP!

Advent is a fabulous season of the year for BOTH Worship and Fellowship!  We need to celebrate the arrival of Jesus Christ, God in the Flesh, who came to dwell among us.  And we've been doing BOTH at NFCN!
I calculated today, that since the 30th of November, through the 19th of December, Karen and/or I will have been to 17 special Christmas fellowship events as part of NFCN!  On top of that, add another 3 events with family/friends outside of the church and around 10 special worship or service events.  All in 20 days.  That, my friends, is quite a schedule of Worship and Celebration!

But we wouldn't trade ONE of them!  We wouldn't try and get out of any of them!  Every time we gather for worship or fellowship we come away better than we arrived.  Spiritually and every other way.  I've found it true across the years, and this year is no exception.

That said, for many people the pace of this season for so many becomes their pain of a different kind.  Some tend to isolate themselves, feeling "left out" of the joy because of family realities or physical pain or other issues.  Some just don't share the excitement or joy of what's going on for very personal reasons.  And some don't worship because they just don't believe, or have fallen away from belief.

To all this season, REJOICE - THE CHRIST HAS COME!  Lift up your heads - GOD HAS NOT FORGOTTEN US! LISTEN - in Worship - because God has broken His silence and come to dwell with His people!  Whether through the song of a child on the platform, the meaningful conversation with a fellow believer at a Sunday School class Party or the sheer joy of tasting someone's home-made chocolate Christmas great, relish it.  It's all part of the joy of Christmas.

Last night, we arrived home after yet another wonderful event, to find a package had been delivered from a faithful NFCN church member to our home.  It was a meaningful, thoughtful and personal gift, obviously thought-out and carefully selected for my wife and myself, having clearly picked up something in a conversation apparently that we might desire or need.  My heart was quickly warmed with appreciation to realize someone cared about us like that.  It nearly brought tears to my eyes, not because of any extravagance, but because of the personal focus of it.  Just for us.  Just another part of the season - let's all do that!

We've got a few more days left.  Don't miss the moments of THIS SUNDAY, both morning and evening.  Of CHRISTMAS EVE at 5:00 PM.  And spend some quiet time in personal worship as well.  Tis the season.  Don't let it pass!
