The third European Marine Science Educators Association (EMSEA) conference was hosted by the Hellenic Centre for Marine Research in Heraklion, Crete, this fall.

Here's another fun opportunity for your students: our Massachusetts Marine Educators chapter is co-sponsoring an annual Marine Art Contest with Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary. Not only do winning students have their artwork displayed throughout New England and in an annual calendar, they can also win prizes! Several of our chapters held their annual meetings and conferences this fall - our Mid-Atlantic Marine Education Association chapter held their annual conference at the North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher and whales took center stage at the Gulf of Maine Marine Education Association annual meeting.

• Board member Sean Russell is working with EarthEcho International to create its inaugural Youth Leadership Council. This will be a group of up to 15 young people who will have the unique opportunity to provide input to and assist in the development of environmental education and conservation based programs engaging young people on a global scale. Applications are being accepted through December 31, 2015. Full details > 
• Current NMEA members who are logged into our website can access digital issues of Current, which is a benefit of membership and features lively, in-depth articles and activities relating to all aspects of the world of water.
