CAE Board News


In December, the CAE Board held two meetings to consider a number of issues.

The Board approved the terms of reference of a new Research Committee, endorsed a report on re-engineering some of our existing office activities and accepted the final reports of both the Trottier Energy Pathways Project and the Northern Oceans Task Force.  It also approved a break even budget for F2016.  Look for the release of these two reports in early 2016.

The Council of Canadian Academies has appointed Dr. Eric Meslin as its new President and CEO. Dr. Meslin is founding Director of the Indiana University Center for Bioethics and Associate Dean for Bioethics in the Indiana University School of Medicine. Born in Canada, he is a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences.

Eddy Isaacs, FCAE CEO of Alberta Innovates - Energy and Environment Solutions (AI-EES) was appointed to the Council of Canadian Academy's Scientific Advisory Committee.

2016 Annual Meeting


The next Annual Meeting will take place on June 27 2016 in Winnipeg. The Annual Meeting will take place at the historic Fort Garry Hotel and the Induction Ceremony at the Canadian Museum for Human Rights.
