2015-2016 theme verse:

See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.  -  Isaiah 43:19 (NIV)

New year at NYC for graduate

December graduate Anna Bross got a trip to New York City as a graduation gift from her parents, Jim ('84) and Angie Bross ('85), who traveled with her. A long wait at Times Square paid off for Anna, pictured here with Ryan Seacrest, host of New Year's Rockin' Eve. She also got on camera briefly during the celebration as ABC televised it live.

Flag Plaza addition

The phrase "In God We Trust" was recently added to Sheriff National Guard Memorial Flag Plaza, a fitting reminder of the SWU community's Christ-Centered foundation, added to a memorial that honors all who have worn or currently wear a military uniform and, at great sacrifice, defend our freedoms. The plaza was constructed and dedicated in 2014 on the Central campus.
Own a piece of history
For many decades, SWU students, faculty and staff worshiped in a historic stone church located at the heart of the Central campus. Its sanctuary is filled with memories of spiritual and life milestones for generations of men and women who lived and learned on “college hill” in the past and in more recent times. Now there’s an opportunity to own a piece of that strong spiritual heritage. The Advancement Office is making pews from the old First Wesleyan Church (Nicholson-Mitchell Christian MInistry Center) available to own.

United Way helps its local communities with free tax preparation

Through United Way and VITA, if your household income is $50,000 or less, you may be eligible for FREE income tax preparation assistance. To find out more, simply call 2-1-1 for an appointment.
