At the conclusion of bargaining with SAHO on February 27, 2015, your Negotiating Committee reported that discussions with SAHO were to continue the following week and future dates were to be determined. As of this release of this bulletin, informal discussions have taken place with SAHO but a future set of dates has not yet been determined.

Each year at this time, our Labour Relations Officers receive many questions about carrying over accrued vacation hours. HSAS provides a description of how many vacation credits you are entitled to carry-over for usage next year.

Mileage Rates - Effective April 1/15
For travel south of the 54th parallel, the per kilometre Transportation Rate is $0.4910.
For travel north of the 54th parallel, the per kilometre Transportation Rate is $0.5410.

Market Supplement Update
HSAS Executive Council has recently established a standing Market Supplement Committee. The Committee will focus on streamlining the process used by HSAS to administer the supplement program for HSAS members.
There are currently four reports overdue (not yet received from SAHO), one received and accepted, two coming due in the next month, one in the appeal process, and seven recently received and yet to be reviewed by the HSAS Market Supplement Committee.

42nd Annual HSAS Convention attendees
43rd Annual HSAS Convention
The 43rd Annual Convention of HSAS will be held October 22 & 23, 2015 in Regina, SK at the Delta Regina. HSAS has confirmed guest speaker Dionne Pohler from the University of Saskatchewan. Dionne will speak on social activism and the modern day Union.

Delegate Nomination forms will be sent to all members on May 12, 2015. The deadline for all Convention Delegate nominations is June 8, 2015.
