Still Eagle Updates

We heard that the week between xmas and new years was often hard on homeless folks, as some charities closed down. We contacted local charities to explain what services are available to the needy this xmas season.

Here's who we found was still open. So we'll be collecting food and blankets all during boxing week.
Bring your donations to the collection bin near the front door of Still Eagle.

Friday from 9 am to 11 am, including (this year) Christmas and New Year's Day,

We are around the corner from the front entrance on the Silica side, down the basement stairs.

We welcome everyone in need, without barriers.

Salvation Army

We are closed during Boxing week, sort of, we will not be providing our programs as our shower and laundry room are undergoing some maintenance work but people can get emergency food during the day by calling 250 352 3488 and leave a message, we will be randomly checking the message machine and we will have staff in and out during the week that can put together emergency food.

We also have shower passes for the Rec Center if needed over the Christmas break.

Stepping Stones

Marjie here from Stepping Stones Emergency Shelter. While we will remain open we are not always able to accommodate everyone. We do our best to provide blankets, tents, tarps and other warm clothing. We also provide drop-in service each day to past clients of Stepping Stones , this may include coffee, tea, snacks and sandwiches.

Our Daily Bread
520 Falls Street, Nelson, BC V1L 6B5
9 am to 2 pm Monday to Friday

We cook a hot nutritious meal for 50 to 100 people each day Monday to Friday. Bulk Food items work best: pastas potatoes rich spices etc. We have a barrier free environment and serve all who are in need. Financial help is always appreciated too as we have capital cost that need to be covered.
