Merry Christmas Dear Ones!

As we reflect on this past year we are simpy awestuck by the faithfulness of our Lord. He has done so many, many new and beautiful things in our presence this past year, and as we remember together we'd like to invite you to join us in celebrating the birth of Jesus (anew and afresh daily!) in our little Bangkok stable during this past year.

Your prayers, encouragement, partnership, witness to His mercy and financial support are also such a significant part of how the Lord has accomplished his purposes this past year. We thank you, and we bless you for the role that you have also played in these following highlights!

Here are some highlights from 2015:

Rak Teh moved into a newly renovated building with beautiful street access.

We welcomed our fourth child into this world, beloved Rinnan Samut Hauptman!

Our family moved to a new 3rd floor apartment space at Baan Rak Teh (the ministry house) more than doubling our family’s square footage (from 240 to almost 500!) and giving our kids a whole lot more breathing, running, playing, fighting, and sleeping space!

Leigh and Ling Martin joined the team :).

We hosted a house opening that partied with 300 neighbors singing and dancing in the way of Jesus (whether they recognized it or not!) in front of our new home.

Rak Teh church began meeting one week after the house opening, gathering with a small group of neighbors and kids to worship, study, pray, and eat together weekly.

English classes for women in the neighborhood started on Sunday afternoons (which has been an open door pathway for several of these ladies to join in with other activities connected to the church).

Leigh and Ling began teaching English weekly to police officers at the local police precinct.

We hosted a women’s health clinic out of the building.

Sam & Pat continued their involvement with a local church of deaf Thai Christians connected to the neighborhood, supporting the small group, teaching at the church, and loving them on their journey through life's challenging ups and downs.

Continued monthly partnership with Evangelical Church of Bangkok to take out food boxes - sharing meals, listening ears, practical help, and prayer on the streets with neighbors.

Hosting 3 different YWAM discipleship training school outreaches where teams come and stay in the new building and reach out to neighbors in partnership with Rak Teh.

Opportunities for members from each family on the Rak Teh team to teach in YWAM discipleship training schools throughout the region.

Lilian and Matthijs welcomed their son Juda Salem into the world.

Starting, ending and re-starting a weekly time for kids to come and meet with Jesus in the building, and exploring different ways to reach out to kids from the neighborhood.

Opening the building up for simple hospitality where neighbors can hang out, use bathrooms, rest off of the streets, and have a warm drink or charge a cell phone.

Weekly outreach among our street involved neighbors, the deaf, and men involved in prostitution.

Renewed sense of calling, purpose and opportunity to reach out to the young men involved in prostitution on the streets surrounding the grand palace near our home.

Continued advocacy on a personal level, walking with neighbors as they faced medical challenges, re-started small businesses, reunited with family in distant provinces, choose to explore prostitution recovery programs, received their first ever government issued ID cards, and started school for the first time ever.

In November our family departed Bangkok for 2 months of re-connecting with stateside family, friends, and supportive faith communities. Finally, we will soon drive East to begin a 5-month Sabbitical with Iven as a student in YWAM Idaho’s Bible School for the Nations.

We thank God for his activity among us this past year.

It truly is humbling to be witnesses to the work of Jesus in our own lives, in the midst of our neighbors, and in His Kingdom.

With much gratitude!

All grace and peace,
Iven, Kashmira, Izayla, Elian, Kyin & Rinnan
