What holidays does your cohousing community celebrate? Hanukah? Solstice? Christmas? Nabi -- Birthday of the Prophet Muhammed (Sunni)? or Milad un Nabi (Shia)? Festivus? Hopi Soyaluna?
Celebrating holidays in cohousing is as varied as our residents. Although we don't celebrate many of the December "Special Days" at Takoma Village, Washington, DC, I'm personally fond of National Flashlight Day, December 21st. Or how about Wear Brown Shoes Day, December 4th? (Not to be confused with Put on Your Own Shoes Day on December 6th.) Or my very favorite ... National Bicarbonate of Soda Day on December 30th. I guess a lot of people are drinking bicarb after a month long celebration.
