President's Note

Dear TACL Family,

Happy New Year!  We hope you had a very merry holiday season with lots of good cheer, fun and laughter.

In 2015, we spent the year celebrating our 30th Anniversary.  In 2016, we will embark on a new chapter to DREAM BIG, kicking off the year with our Midterm Conference in Atlanta for TACL Board members over MLK Weekend.  If you are a Board member, have you registered already?

TACL's goal is to build a tight-knit Taiwanese American network that can come together with a loud and strong voice.  Being that 2016 is Election Year, we will be spearheading a Get-Out-the-Vote ("GOTV") Campaign to make sure our TA voices are heard - are you registered to vote?  Be on the lookout for our many GOTV events to come, led by our new Director of Citizenship, Austin Ko.

As always, we want to hear from you, so if you have thoughts, suggestions, comments, etc., feel free to email us at tacl@tacl.org and remember to “Like” us on Facebook.

Best,

Jacqui Wu
TACL National President

2016 Midterm Conference in Atlanta

During Martin Luther King Jr. Day Weekend, TAP-Atlanta is hosting the 2016 TACL Midterm Conference, “Dream Big,” which will inspire our TACL Board members, camp friends and ITASA friends from across the nation to think through the vision and goals of our organizations and in our personal and professional lives.  In addition to the learning sessions, a casino night at the Georgia Aquarium and karaoke will be some of the many fun events in store for the weekend.  Board members and TACL friends, make sure you have been added to the Facebook group and register soon!

2016 Political Internship Program in L.A.

We are excited to announce that applications for the Summer 2016 TACL Political Internship Program (PIP) are open!  Since 2012, TACL PIP has placed college students in elected officials' offices with the mission of empowering our brightest young community members to make an impact through civil engagement.  Our nine-week Los Angeles program will kick off on June 4, 2016, and end with a Closing Ceremony on August 6, 2016.  Read more about this year's program here, and please help us spread the word to talented college candidates.

Making the Taiwanese Voice Heard

One of TACL's goals is to ensure that Taiwanese Americans and all Americans have full access to the democratic process.  For the 2016 election year, our new Director of Citizenship, Austin Ko, will be dedicated to getting out the vote in the community so our TA voice can be heard.  Stay tuned for more updates we have on our 2016 Get-Out-the-Vote Campaign.  For starters, here is our blog on TA voting and why it is so critical.

TAP-Boston: A New Program to Propel Your Career to the Next Level

TAP-Boston decided it was time to put an end to the quarter-life crisis (or at least try to), so we created a new program: "Propel."  Propel is an individualized personal and professional growth program where members can more meaningfully align their lives with their aspirations.  Intrigued?  Read about TAP-Boston's program here.
