It's celebration time ...
Many important milestones have occurred in December, making this a special month for us:
- December 2, 2011 - Angel Investor funding acquired and development begins
- December 17, 2012 - 10 EVT cameras built
- December 2, 2013 - First production run (60 cameras) sold out
- December 11, 2013 - First Customer Ship
- December 27, 2013 - All first production cameras shipped to customers
- December 16, 2015 - SW version 2.1.6 released
- December 23, 2015 - Approximately 540 cameras shipped
You can see why we look forward to this time of year.
Enhanced Dynamic Range (EDR) Mode
EDR mode (also known as WDR or HDR) is a new feature in 2.1.6 which can prevent very bright portions of the image from washing out. All edgertronic cameras have EDR hardware built in, but until now, supporting EDR was low on our software priority list. A customer came to us with a difficult problem and EDR was the perfect solution. We adjusted our development priorities and quickly provided a beta version. Improvements were made and EDR is now part of version 2.1.6.

Software Version 2.1.6
Software Version 2.1.6 is now available for download and adds a number of useful new features:
- Added Enhanced Dynamic Range (EDR) mode
- Added Force Monochrome mode for color cameras
- Advanced Settings button replaced by Preferences Tab in UI
- Added code to preserve User Settings during future (post 2.1.6) updates
- Fixed a calibration defect that can occur when Subsample mode is enabled
To update your camera, go to: http://wiki.edgertronic.com/index.php/Software_releases and follow the instructions carefully. As always, our software updates are FREE!
Who's using the edgertronic?
We could tell you the names of all the Fortune 500 Companies, Government Labs, Universities and Researchers that are using the edgertronic, but then we'd have to kill you. Seriously, we respect our customer's privacy and understand the proprietary or even classified work that our customers engage in. While we can't give out any names, we can share some interesting facts:
- 35 customers have purchased 2 cameras
- 9 customers have purchased 3 cameras
- 3 customers have purchased 4 cameras
- 2 customers have purchased 6 cameras
- 1 customer has purchased 11 cameras
- 1 customer has purchased 30 cameras
Repeat customers are an important part of our business and account for about 30% of our sales. One well known industrial customer bought a camera in December 2013 and over the last 2 years has purchased 29 more. We can't ask for a better endorsement.
Customer requested features
The majority of our new software features start as customer requests. If you are using our camera and know of a feature you'd like us to consider adding, please email us.
Production and Delivery Time
Sales are increasing, but we're still holding delivery time to 1 week on standard configurations. Some options, like IR Filter Delete may take slightly longer.
