Merry Christmas!

Wanted to take a moment and wish a blessed Christmas season and New Year to everyone who has attended our Bible studies--or even shown interest in them.

We also wanted to let you know that our next study will be one recommended by Pope Francis himself: he wants everyone to read Dante's Divine Comedy during this Year of Mercy. If you're wondering why, you may like to read this article by Bishop Robert Barron who is also a great admirer of the work.

The study we have chosen is offered by Catholic Courses and taught by Professor Anthony Esolen. We've watched some of it already and it's very good.

We haven't decided on when/where to offer the study and will send a survey soon to get your feedback. But if you think you'd like to take part--or even read the Divine Comedy on your own--we recommend you purchase the translations by Anthony Esolen: Inferno (or this one), Purgatory, and Paradise. (Of course, if you plan to read this on your own and not join the study, you can find editions in the library or online--but the right kind of notes make all the difference says Catholic Professor Joseph Pearce who also recommends the translation by Dorothy L. Sayers.)

Once again, Merry Christmas to you and yours,

Mark and Celine McCoy
