Coming up in 2016

The return of “Question Week;” the paperback edition of A More Beautiful Question; and my next book

Question Week 2016Looking ahead to 2016, here are three exciting things I want to share with readers. First, in March, we’ll be doing another iteration of “Question Week,” beginning on March 13 (with a particular focus on Einstein’s birthday, March 14th). We’ve been doing an annual celebration of questioning for a couple of years now, and we expect this year’s to the biggest one yet. Find out more about who’s involved and what we’ve got planned.

This year, we’re particularly interested in working with schools and teachers to organize more student activities around Question Week. If you’re a teacher or school administrator and you’d like to know more about how your school or your classroom can participate, drop us a line.

In other news, my publisher, Bloomsbury, recently announced that the paperback edition of A More Beautiful Question will come out in September of 2016. I’ve been a little impatient to see the paperback come out, but my publisher tells me I should be happy it’s taking so long; it means the hardcover has been a steady seller—thanks to the word of mouth from people like you. I’m going to add some fresh “extras” to the paperback edition, including new sections on “questioning in the classroom” and “using questions to find your passion/purpose in life.” I’ll keep everyone posted as the paperback becomes available for pre-ordering.

Meanwhile, I have been asked by a number of people (including my above-mentioned publisher), When are you writing the next book? That’s a good question, but an even better question is: What will the next book be about? I’m still working that out, but I can say definitely that it will be about questioning.

There are a few angles I’m pursuing, but I’d love to hear from readers on this. What do you think would make for a good follow-up to A More Beautiful Question? Should it be a book that focuses in on one area (such as questioning in business, or in schools)? Or maybe a book that is filled with many “beautiful questions” that can inspire us in work and life? Perhaps something that is more practical, in terms of offering techniques, exercises, and strategies for becoming a better questioner? Or maybe there’s a whole other way to come at this subject—something that’s not even on my radar? Any and all ideas are welcome.

Thank you, as always, for your interest in AMBQ, and I hope to continue the conversation with you either via Twitter, Facebook, or on the AMBQ blog.
