July 31, 2016 marks the 11th Annual National Mutt Day, a celebration of our mixed breed pups that helps bring awareness to the need for pet adoption!
Photo submissions will be accepted September 5, 2016 - September 16, 2016. We are going to be looking for photos that have been taken up close for impact, with less background and more of your pup! Only horizontalphotos will be accepted due to the calendar formatting. Be sure to have your camera or cell phone set on HDR to get the best possible photo. Photos that have been saved to your camera or cell phone will need to be sent to us at their original size in order for us to have a crisp photo of your dog. If you photos are sent to us in this format, we can easily enlarge them without damaging their quality to make sure your dog is shown off properly!
Tips for getting the best photos of your family pup for our upcoming calendar:
UCFI-remember to be Up Close For Impact
Less background, more of your pup…we want your dog, not all the rest; every time your photo gets cropped, it loses some of its clarity
Take your photos horizontally because that is how the calendar is set up
Find an interesting angle
Set your camera on HDR (on an iPhone, it is at the very top when your turn the camera on)
Be sure to save the original camera images to your camera so that you can send us those. Social media photos are smaller and may result in a photo we cannot use in the calendar
Voting will take place September 26, 2016 - September 30, 2016.
Winners will be announced October 3, 2016.
