Reader Application Winter 2016


The Department of Statistics is currently hiring Readers for Winter 2016. Readers provide diverse services as a “course assistant”, which will normally include the grading of student homework, quizzes, and exams for undergraduate statistics courses. A reader will NOT be teaching or holding office hours. The current pay rate for undergraduate readers is $14 per hour and $14.73 for graduate readers. The reader appointment can be renewed based on performance evaluation from the instructor and the availability of reader hours.

Qualifications:
  • Full-time UC Davis registered student (declared statistics majors preferred)
  • Student must be in good academic standing
  • 3.0 or higher overall and major GPAs (on a 4.00 point scale)
  • Must have taken the course or a closely related course and received a “B” or better grade
  • Must have excellent time management skills and good attention to details
  • Must be able to communicate effectively
  • A student may not serve as a reader in a course in which he or she is enrolled.

Statistics Sweatshirts


As a fundraiser for Statistics Club, the department is selling statistics sweatshirts. They are $20 dollars each and come in both crew necks and hoodies. 

To purchase a sweatshirt please stop by MSB 4118B from 9am-2:30pm today (1/4)  or any time between 8am-5pm on Friday (1/8). 

Sizes are available on a first come first serve basis.
