As another year draws to a close,

the Digital Birmingham team would like to thank you for your continued support. It’s been a rewarding year and we look forward to 2016 where we will be pressing forward with a range of new projects and developments. Driven through our Smart City Commission, a particular highlight for us this year has been establishing the East Birmingham Demonstrator and this is proving a great success in corralling new partnerships to build on and enhance existing city work focused on a new approach to how we tackle some of the city’s challenges.
In the New Year we will be full steam ahead working with partners to pull together a Digital prospectus for HS2 to look at how we use technologies and infrastructure – both the emerging and unforeseen to ensure that the region benefits from wider opportunities of this investment now and into the future.
Finally, our other big area of focus is to make sure that as a city we can build the data economy, which will be key in helping the city to catalyse operational transformation of city services as well as support wider innovation and growth of businesses and civic enterprises.
