5 Reasons Why You Should Visit Florida This Year!

#1 Miami

Miami is a constantly evolving city and it is just getting better. It went from being a retirement home community to the wild South Beach scene of the mid-80s through the 90s to the cool international arts and culinary scene that it is today. Miami is also where the largest privately owned car museum in the world is located,The Dezer Collection. The collection features 1250 cars, including many movie and other famous cars in diorama settings.

# 2 The Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance

Once listed in the New York Times as "The Nation's Top Concours d'Elegance,” this Concours  has been around since 1971. Each entry is rated for authenticity, function, history, style and quality of restoration by a team of judges that includes specialists for each car type. Many collectors spend years and hundreds of thousands of dollars purchasing and restoring a car in hopes of being chosen. Once a car is accepted to the Concours, it cannot be entered into the event again for five years!

#3 Walt Disney World

Sure, there are a lot of theme parks around the globe but there is only one Disney World. If you can only do one park, then you should do Epcot. People talk about conquering Disney, Disney strategies, and Disney survival. Disney is Florida’s Mt. Everest or Machu Picchu, only more complicated.
# 4 The 12 Hours of Sebring

This race is famous for its "once around the clock" action, starting during the day and finishing at night. It is known as preparation for the 24 Hours of Le Mans, as the track's extremely bumpy surface, combined with south-central Florida's perennial hot weather tests a car's reliability. In recent years, six victories overall have been achieved by the Audi R8, one fewer than the record seven wins of the Porsche 935.

#5 The Everglades

The Florida Everglades are an unparalleled landscape that provide important habitat for numerous rare and endangered species like the manatee, American crocodile, and the elusive Florida panther. Alligators are also an important part of the Everglades ecosystem and are considered a keystone species of the park. On this trip, we will be visiting Immokalee's Lake Trafford for an airboat ride to see these amazing creatures. With 3,500 gators within the lake, spotting gators will be no problem.
