Welcome to Access Ability's Winter 2016 Newsletter

Happy new year and welcome to Access Ability's Winter 2016 newsletter. We have various updates from the past few months as well as additional dates for our training, success stories and new projects.

Our volunteer walk leaders attended L2 Emergency First Aid Training. Some of the topic learnt by our leaders was how to recognise and assess a potential situation, how to put someone into the recovery position, perform CPR and how to treat someone if they are bleeding or choking with ABC North West.

The Access ‘Heart’ Ability project aims to improve the health and wellbeing of adults who are Deaf or have a disability and/or specialist needs to make small changes in their daily lives to support behaviour change towards better heart health. The project will track changes through individual exercise and food diaries to share learning and development with others in the group.

“Kyle’s communication and social skills have come on leaps and bounds since I first met him back in August 2013. It has been a pleasure to watch his journey with Access Ability as we continue to support him in were possible, the next step hopefully into employment. We thank him dearly for all his hard work and efforts, he is a great asset to Access Ability“

We celebrated another fantastic year with some of our walkers and volunteers with a Christmas party. There were food, gifts, games and excellent company.
