Prof Hawking on his Neuro Condition

We are thrilled to confirm that Professor Stephen Hawking will be speaking of his journey with Motor Neurone Disease at our Neuro Conference on Wednesday 5 October in Kesgrave.

The world-renowned scientist, author of international bestseller A Brief History of Time and subject of Oscar-winning 2014 biographical film The Theory of Everything, has generously accepted our invitation to speak as inspiration to others having defied medics for over 50 years.

Our CEO Helen Fairweather says: "In my opinion Professor Hawking is the most intelligent man to walk the planet.  It is an unimaginable honour to have speak at our Conference and inspire others, especially those with a neurological condition."

Delegates will also hear from Prof John Pickard (Director of the Wolfson Brain Imaging Centre at Addenbrooke's Hospital), Dr Trevor Powell (Consultant Clinical Psychologist and author of multiple head injury publications), Dr Muhibbur Rahman Chowdry (Stroke Consultant at Ipswich Hospital), Rebecca Hopfensperger (Suffolk County Council Cabinet Member for Adult Care), Irwin Mitchell solicitors and Headway Suffolk.

Early booking is advised for the event to guarantee attendance due to an expected high turnout. There is a fee of £30 for professionals and £5 for others to cover lunch.

Book by telephoning 01473 712225, emailing helenfairweather@headwaysuffolk.org.uk or by completing the booking form at: www.headwaysuffolk.org.uk/events
