We are happy to announce that last month, we officially held an intimate Earth Awakening for RTB’s new Education Center. "Earth Awakening" is akin to a "ground breaking" but that phrase didn't fit our restorative and sustainable principals, so we created our own term! The building, designed to be a hub for farm activities, will support our mission to educate, cultivate and empower change agents by providing space for educational classes and events, a commercial teaching kitchen, offices and a resource library.
Designed as a cluster of three small buildings and an open pavilion surrounding a courtyard, the new facility will embrace the outdoors and surrounding farm property. Built with sustainability at the vanguard, participants that come to RTB will be welcomed and supported by a community that is passionate about the environment, a localized circular economy, and creating positive social change in our region and in the world. Join us in 2016 as we together endeavor to heal and restore our planet, our relationships, our food system, and our overall well-being.
I'd like to take this opportunity to introduce you to our wonderful teammate, Elizabeth Wiley, RTB’s Education & Projects Manager. This building will allow Liz to use her passion and expertise to bring you year-round educational programming on an ever growing range of innovative topics. Our programs will predominately be around food and farming, however will also extend into health and wellness, spirituality, natural building, permaculture, social justice and much more. We will focus on building hard (technical) skills and cultivating soft (self-awareness) skills for a more restorative humanity and planet. Check out this short video clip of Liz!
