As many people do in the New Year, I've been evaluating the last year and making my plans for next year. I happened upon the website Holiday Insights.
I recommend you check it out for a fun way to plan some creative activities for yourself, family and friends.
You can choose the days you want to observe and plan your activities. I selected some of my personal favorite days to observe in January and began planning.
Below are my personal favorite 7 days to celebrate. Stay tuned because you might see some photos and stories about our celebrations this month in my blog.
Saturday, January 9, 2016 Play God Day
This is my day to do something good for someone else. It does not have to be anything big or cost a lot of money. I'm planning to assist with alter care and flowers at our local church. If you are interested in observing Play God Day, some suggestions include:
- visiting someone that is sick or elderly.
- giving time to a local community organization or church.
- making something and giving it to someone in need.
- buying two of everything you need at the grocery store and donating one to the local food bank.
- organizing a family community service project.
Monday, January 18, 2016 is Winnie the Pooh Day
Birthday of the author, AA Milne. I read the Winnie the Pooh books to my children and we saw the movies together. I have also enjoyed reading the Tao of Pooh by Benjamin Hoff. I'd like to to have an impromptu birthday party to celebrate Pooh's Day with friends. We can never be too old to celebrate Winnie the Pooh Day!
Tuesday, January 19, 2016 is National Popcorn Day
I have to celebrate this because Popcorn with butter and salt is my favorite snack. My New Year resolution was to treat myself to popcorn AFTER I lose 10 pounds. I have a conflict of interest here so I am not sure what I will do on National Popcorn Day.
Tuesday, January 21, 2016 is National Hugging Day
I read somewhere that you need 5 hugs a day for good mental health. I definitely want to celebrate this day by getting in those 5 hugs and making some Hug cards to send out to my long distance friends.
Thursday, January 26, 2016 is National Spouses Day
This is a time I can set aside to enjoy and appreciate Jerry by planning some fun activities we can do together on this day.
Sunday, January 31, 2016 is National Inspire Your Heart With Art Day
There are so many ways to celebrate art. I could view it, purchase it, create it.
I'm planning a visit to an art or craft show.
These are my 7 picks to celebrate and observe in January of the New Year.
I Wish You All a New Year filled with Joy and Creativity!
