1000 Books Before Kindergarten
The 1,000 Books before Kindergarten encourages families to read at least 1,000 books to their preschooler, birth to age 5, before they enter school. Families can sign up beginning January 2016 at the Mercer County District Library in Celina, Mendon, St. Henry and Chickasaw.
Each child will receive a folder with a starter page to record the books they read. Each time a goal is reached, children are encouraged to bring their folder to the library to receive a small prize and pick up more library books.

Outreach Service
The world of books need never close for the library's patrons, even if disability strikes. Through outreach service, books are delivered directly to home bound library patrons. Library patrons can request this service if they are recovering from illness or other wise unable to get to the library, a nursing home resident, or permanently disabled. Patrons may request particular titles, or they may provide our staff with preferred genres or topics.
If you are interested in the Outreach Service, please call the library at 419-586-4442.
