CrossPointers on mission, kids responding to Christ and a record offering to the Mission Stream were just some of the highlights of 2015 at CrossPoint. Although we could note dozens of significant stories for the year, here are some of the highlights for 2015.
 

• Over 600 CrossPointers went on mission to India, China, Hong Kong, South Korea, Uganda, Germany, Latin America, Sevierville, TN, Greenville, SC, Argo, Trussville, Moody and Birmingham, AL.

 

• Several of our Bible Study Groups served with Sav-A-Life, Well House Ministries, Habitat for Humanity, local food banks, Alabama Baptist Children's Home and many other ministries in the Birmingham Metropolitan area.

 

• We gave more to the Mission Stream than ever given before ($333,000.00 as of December 27), which will put us in the position to be the leading Southern Baptist Church in Alabama with regard to International and North American mission giving. 

 

• We commissioned Taylor and Lydia Whitley to serve in the International Baptist Church of Stuttgart, Germany.  Additionally, we have the next couple about to take a step of faith taking them to another part of the world to share the gospel of Christ.

 

• We had more than 700 players from 8 different area churches representing 3 different denominations played in the CrossPoint Basketball League.  We estimate more than 2800 people walked through The Point entrances each week to watch those kids play basketball.

 

• We had 120+ individuals participated in the In His Grip annual golf tournament.

 

• We had 200+ runners ran in the 14^th annual CrossPoint 5K.

 

• The CrossPoint Foundation awarded a record-setting $5500.00 to local ministries.

 

• We gave birth to three new Bible Study Groups – Oaks of Righteousness, Crowns of Beauty & New Song

 

• We are continuing to research places to plant a church in North America.

 

• More than 200 students and adults participated in the Student Dnow Weekend last February.

 

• Over 700 children and adults participated in SMASH.

 

• We have 35 children who indicated the desire to accept Christ & follow through with baptism during SMASH.

 

• We honored Steve Parr for 25 years of faithful ministry at Center Point & CrossPoint.

 

• We reduced our mortgage by more than $1,000,000 by giving to the Mortgage Stream. 

 

• We increased our giving to the Ministry Stream by 2%.

 

• We glorified God by reaching JUST ONE MORE to become a fully devoted follower of Jesus Christ.

 
And to what do we attribute this success?  Without a doubt, all of this and so much more is do the intrinsic blessing the Lord has given us because we remain faithful to the gospel of Jesus Christ.  May we stay on message for this year and the next and the next, until Christ returns.
