Dear <<First Name>>,

Happy New Year and welcome back to term 3.

I am emailing to let you know that the Oxfordshire NUT Committee has decided to call a Special General Meeting for the purpose of prioritising motions for Annual Conference 2016. This is a key part of the process for deciding the policy of the Union nationally. The Association is able to select six motions we would like to be prioritised for discussion at Annual Conference from all those submitted. The motions with the most overall votes in each section will be discussed at the conference.

The booklet of motions submitted, along with an explanation of the process, can be accessed by clicking here.

The meeting will take place between 4.30pm and 5.30pm on Thursday 14th January and will have one item of business only: motions for annual conference. Any member who attends between these times will be eligible to participate in a ballot to select motions for prioritisation, whether or not they can stay for the whole meeting and there will be an informal discussion of motions, as well as information about the conference itself.

The meeting will take place at Seacourt Hall in Botley. Please let us know by reply if you are able to come so we can make arrangements.

I also wanted to share a couple of other dates with you.

Firstly, our next Professional Development course on 4th February 2016 at the Kassam Stadium. David Reedy, President of the UK Literacy Association, will be leading a day on Encouraging and Embedding Literacy Across the Curriculum. We have a few places remaining but the course is filling up fast.

For more information, or to book your place, click here:

Secondly, our AGM will take place on 2nd March 2016 at Milton Hill House Hotel, followed by a meal. The AGM and meal are open to all members and we are asking those who are coming to book in advance, by clicking the image below:

I hope to see you at an event this term.

Best wishes,

Gawain Little
Secretary
