This course uses The Railway Man, Wild and Chinatown to cultivate skills to interpret and critique film, and to consider possible theological approaches to film criticism. We also will explore the historical relationship between theology and film, including how the Christian churches have rejected and appropriated films in the past. Monday 1 to Thursday 4 February

Each Gospel resonates with a sense, not simply of ‘this was Jesus’ but something more powerful: ‘this is Jesus for us’. This term will be devoted above all to the ‘this was Jesus’ theme.
