Do you think schools are better when the community is involved? We do too! That’s why we are investing in a part-time Community Engagement Coordinator to create a comprehensive volunteer program from the ground up, work directly with SLED
projects like the Season of Service, and serve as a liaison with school sites.

Don't Miss The Final Community Input Meeting For SLUSD School Redesign
The final community input meeting for the SLUSD Secondary School Redesign is set for Wednesday night. This will be the last community meeting before the SLUSD board votes on the recommendations from previous meeting and workshops.

Free Mandarin Classes for John Muir Students!
Did you know that a Mandarin foreign language class will be offered in Fall 2016 at San Leandro High? Well, it will be if enough students enroll!
To help get the word out and encourage students to take the class, the San Leandro Asian Community Cultural Association will be offering a series of six FREE after school classes at John Muir Middle school on Wednesdays beginning January 20th. Community Members Needed - Volunteer To Judge SLHS Student Business Plans
The students of the San Leandro High School Business Academy continue to be recognized as national leaders, most recently at the International Network For Teaching Entrepreneurship World Series of Innovation competition. 60 semifinalists were selected from over 800 entries and of those 60, 11 were from the SLHS Business Academy!
Help the success continue by volunteering to judge the Junior Advertising/Promotional campaigns and Senior International, Franchise and Independent Business plans this January.
