Dear ARC Friends,

Happy New Year!

“We should imagine the future and then make it happen”- Muhammad Yunus

As we enter 2016, we at ARC are imagining a world filled with compassion for all beings. We know we can create this kinder world by making compassionate choices at every meal, leaving animals and their by-products off of our plates, and spreading a message of respect and compassion for all sentient beings in everything we do.

In 2016, ARC will be ramping up our leafleting and outreach activities and continuing to host the wonderful monthly dinners. We hope to see you at some or all of these events. If you don't live in the area, please stay in touch through the website, facebook page, and our blog (https://arcforallsentientbeings.wordpress.com/). Scroll below for information and details on the January Cafe (Sat. January 23rd), and our new blog post "'The Bystander Effect'; What the Murder of Kitty Genovese can Teach us about what we Eat." And if you haven't gotten the e-cookbook yet, there's a link for that below.

Also, please SAVE THE DATE for our Second Annual Banquet coming up Saturday, February 27th. Like last year, we'll have great live music, a silent auction, door prizes, a delicious vegan cheese table, amazing food, and this year we'll also have great gift bags for everyone as well as some extra entertainment featuring the antics of the ARC players :) Please plan on attending! It will be so much fun, and all proceeds will help us expand our work in 2016. Also, if you have any items you'd like to donate for the silent auction, please let us know! We are specifically looking for donated serves such as massage, and yoga, as well as other items to help support a plant based healthy lifestyle.

And if you'd like to get involved in any of our upcoming outreach events like leafleting Mardi Gras or an anti trophy hunting demonstration we have planned for Feb. 6th, please like us on facebook for up-to-date announcements, or contact us by e-mail. We would love for you to join us!

With deep gratitude for all you do every day to make the world a kinder, more compassionate place for all beings, we are so looking forward to working together in 2016 to make the compassionate future happen now!

With Great Love, and in Solidarity,
Tracey and the whole ARC team

New ARC Blog Post.
"'The Bystander Effect'; What the Murder of Kitty Genovese can Teach us about what we Eat."

"[T]he one factor above all else influencing whether a witness or bystander will come to the aid of a victim is how many other witnesses are present. The more witnesses there are, the more people are likely to assume that someone else will address the problem, or even that what appears to be a problem is not in fact a problem at all...Is this why we as a society look away and keep quiet as massive animal torture and murder goes on under our own noses? Globally we kill 70 billion land animals every year for food. That’s six million animals every hour. These are not animals who lead a good life and die a painless death. We read the reports. We see the undercover videos, and we know that what is happening is horribly, unconscionably, wrong. So why do we do nothing?...'We are the ones we've been waiting for.'"

Join ARC for our first cafe of 2016! And please bring the kids for this one!Kids under 12 eat free! Besides a delicious healthy plant-based menu, (as always), for the adults (Jeff's world-famous Chili, gluten free Jalapeno-cheddar cornbread, organic greens), we'll also have a separate kids' table with vegan mac n' cheese, veggie dogs, broccoli, and rice krispy treats.

After dinner, kids will be entertained by the amazing Ali, who will be enlightening and educating the kids with his playful rhymes. Plus, we'll be screening the kids' classic Harry and the Hendersons.

In the main Rug room, Dr. John Dixon, MD will be giving a talk for the adults on plant based nutrition, followed by a Q&A with Dr. Dixon. Plus, we'll be screening several inspiring videos including one featuring Dr. Melanie Joy on the psychology behind eating meat.

So much going on at this cafe to help us all make 2016 a year of good health, peace, and compassion for all beings! Hope to see everyone there!
May all beings be happy and free from suffering and may the thoughts, words, and actions of our own lives contribute to that happiness and that freedom in some way. Peace to all beings.
